A Lifelong Passion for the Artistry of Wine
Jean-Charles Boisset
Jean-Charles Boisset was born into the world of wine in the village of Vougeot, Burgundy, France. His lifeliong passion for wine began as a child, growing up above the cellars and within the centuries-old vineyards of Château du Clos Vougeot, the epicenter and birthplace of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. His parents, Jean-Claude and Claudine, founded the family winery in 1961, and today, the family collection includes wineries sharing more than 18 centuries of winemaking heritage in some of the world’s most prestigious terroirs, from Burgundy to the South of France, To California’s Napa Valley and Russian River Valley. From this great foundation, Jean-Charles sets forth a vision of the wine world centered on family, passion, history, innovation, a commitment to fine wines, and a dedication to sustainable winegrowing.

Wine’s Leading Man
Many organizations and publications have honored Jean-Charles with acclaim over the past two decades, including Decanter Magazine (“Power List” of the 50 most important people in the wine world), The French America Foundation (French-American Partnership Award), and, most recently, Wine Enthusiast, which named Jean-Charles the 2024 Person of the Year in their annual Wine Star Awards.

Charitable Wines
We have had the priviledge of working with organizations like the Association of African American Vintners Scholarship Fund, Wine Unify, and actress, artist, and philanthropist Jane Seymour, to give back to the communities through the message of wine.

Biodynamic Sustainability
The Boisset Collection leads by example in California with 191 acres of certified organic and Biodynamic and California sustainable winegrowing in Napa and Sonoma Valleys.
Our Raymond Vineyards winery received the Napa Green Winery and Vineyard Certification in 2018, and Boisset won Napa Green’s 2021 Green Medal Award for Community.
We work with 50+ grower partners to farm sustainably. 85% of our annual energy needs are met by solar panels at our California winemaking facilities. We save 26 million gallons of water annually through water waste treatment systems and rainwater storage. And 78% of our winery waste is diverted from landfills with the goal of net zero solid waste in the next two years.
Theater of Nature
We welcome you to visit Raymond Vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley, where you will find a two-acre educational exhibit that brings the Theater of Nature to life. This living exhibit illustrates how the different “actors” – the soil, plants, animals and Vineyardist – each serve a crucial role and together bring synergy to the craft of quality, sustainable winemaking.

"We make wine. This is our life, not a business, but the art of life."
