The holidays are filled with giving and pleasing others, which is AMAZING, but most times we are so busy just thinking about getting all the gifts wrapped, what cookies to bake, and how to make time for the holiday cocktail party we volunteered ourselves to host. Somehow we make everything happen, but wow what a busy time! Now that the holidays have passed, it is the perfect time to recharge and focus on you!
Here are a few tips to kick off 2020 with a little deserved YOU time…
First, give yourself a moment to breathe, be present and relax before the start of your day. Or if it suits you, find that time in the evening to calm your thoughts, refocus and relax. Try my favorite app headspace.com to ease into mindfulness and meditation (if you have never tried meditation before, I promise this is a great way to start! Plus you will become obsessed with his voice, LOL). The first step to self love is setting aside a few minutes to just be with yourself.
Grab a cozy blanket, glass of wine and a good book! Time to lose yourself in a great story, stimulate your mind and wake up your creative mind. You can never go wrong with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine Book Club or the Girls Night In Book Club.
Turn off your phone, draw a warm bath, light a candle (my favorite is the Otto candle!) + apply a fabulous face mask from Malin and Goetz. Pick some soothing background music from Spotify’s Focus Gere/Mood playlist and pour a glass of TEMPT … actually you probably should bring the can along, just in case ;)
