Appetizers for the big game!
• 1 bag frozen Swedish style meatballs
• 1/2 c. balsamic vinegar
• 1 can TEMPT™ red blend wine
(1 cup for recipe, 1 cup to enjoy while cooking)
• 1/2 c. seedless blackberry preserves
• 3 cloves garlic
• 2 tsp. soy sauce
• 1/3 c. clover honey
• salt and pepper to taste
*If you like sweet and spicy, substitute red pepper jelly for blackberry preserves.
Turn on the slow cooker to low heat and add meatballs. In a medium saucepan, add balsamic vinegar, TEMPT™ red wine, preserves, garlic, soy sauce and honey and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. Pour the sauce over the meatballs in the slow cooker. Cover slow cooker and cook on high for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until the meatballs reach an internal temperature of at least 160º F.
